One of the offices working at the upazila level is the Upazila Project Implementation Office. He is directly involved in the development activities of the Government of Bangladesh. Office Relief Department was started in the office of the Circle Officer in 1973-74 after independence. Gradually its activities continue to increase. At present there are Upazila Project Implementation Offices in all the Upazilas of Bangladesh. There is also a project implementation office in the circle office in the city corporation area. The Office of the Upazila Project Implementation Officer implements various programs / projects implemented by the Disaster Management Department under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief at the Upazila level. At the upazila level, all relief distributions are made by the government to reach out to the poor. Besides, the overall implemented programs are supervised by the Deputy Commissioner and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer. The office of the District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer is at the district level to directly supervise the programs of the Upazila Project Implementation Office.
